The Early Years
I grew up in Charlton, MA. I spent lots of time reading and writing then, too. I got encouragement all through life to do the things I want to do, so I don’t get the benefit of being a tortured artist whom nobody understands.
Undergraduate:
Colby-Sawyer College, New London, New Hampshire. I majored in English and minored in Writing for Publication.
Graduate
Lesley University, Cambridge, Massachusetts. I received my Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing, focusing on Writing for Young People, through Lesley’s low-residency program.

Nice line about the “tortured artist.” I guess I feel like one of them. My support system hasn’t been the most steadfast/enduring. And, some cheerleaders who stick around don’t have the best moral codes.
