MFA Day 4

Yesterday started with another seminar, Indoor/Outdoor reading, where we focused on the importance of place in a story.

Then it was workshop.

My piece went second today, and it was great. People actually liked it! And all of the criticism was so helpful: it help me see that things I thought were clear were a little confusing, and Chris Crutcher showed me how I can cut down on my sentences so they’re not so clunky. It wasn’t nearly as nerve-wracking as I thought it was going to be weeks ago, and now I have so many ideas of how to change and fix things.

[Apparently the Internet ate part of my entry. I fixed the chopped off sentence, but I can’t for the life of me remember if I wrote anything else. Ah, well.]
